Introducing Amayra Hamilton

From a young age, I have been aware of my life mission to learn and to grow, and to assist others in doing so. After starting my career as a high school teacher in my native country, The Netherlands, I spent eight years in the Caribbean with my young family. That is where I embarked on exploring new spiritual avenues, away from my Roman Catholic upbringing. This led to founding a metaphysical store and getting deeply involved in working with essential oils, distributing them and teaching about them. I met Michael Hamilton, an American traveler, which made me decide to move to the United States in 1997. Together, we started a spiritual retreat center, initially in our home. In 2002, we ventured onto a larger scale project, Angel Valley Sedona in a precious valley on Oak Creek near Sedona, Arizona. We managed, built, taught, coached, and gave everything we had to give to assist our guests and clients on their journey into their heart, while following their highest excitement.

We were inspired by many spiritual teachers from both western and eastern traditions. We also found inspiration through the teachings received in channelings from invisible beings such as Archangel Michael and the extraterrestrial Bashar, channeled by Darryl Anka.

Severe grief came on my path in 1999 by the sudden death of my 28-year-old son. Not only did I have to survive this, eventually my son, from the afterlife, encouraged me to share with others about grief and assist them on their journey. I added grief guidance to the modalities I already offered at the retreat center.

The years at the retreat center brought deep fulfillment, together with profound challenges. The most bizarre circumstance I have described in the book my husband and I co-authored, titled ‘Transformation at Angel Valley, A Journey of Integrating the Sedona Sweat Lodge Tragedy.’ The book on grief I intended to put together for my clients, with the title Coming Alive Again’, did not get written because my life was too full.

In 2021, a drastic change occurred when Michael suddenly died. There was not only new grief in my life, new guardians came on my path for the land that Michael and I had stewarded for almost 20 years. Two years later I moved away from the valley that I so deeply treasured and currently live in nearby Cornville, Arizona. I started writing my book and I continue assisting others in their grief process.
